Accessibility Statement
How we are working to make this website usable by as many people as possible.
Last updated: 24/10/2026

Our approach
We want everyone to be able to use the Safety Consistent Services website. We build to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA as a target and test as we go. We have not yet had the website independently audited, so we do not claim formal conformance with any accessibility standard.
What we have done
- Keyboard navigation. All links, menus, buttons, the form, the FAQ accordions and the testimonial carousel can be operated with a keyboard. Focus is clearly visible, and a “skip to main content” link is provided at the start of each page.
- Semantic structure. Pages use headings, landmarks, lists and tables so that screen readers and other assistive technologies can navigate them. The mobile menu, submenu and accordions expose their expanded or collapsed state.
- Readable content. We write in plain English, use a comfortable reading width and line height, and aim for strong colour contrast between text and background.
- Forms. Every field has a visible label. Errors are described in text, linked from a summary and associated with the field they relate to. Required fields are identified in words as well as with a symbol.
- Reduced motion. If your device is set to reduce motion, scroll animations and automatic carousel rotation are switched off. The carousel can also be paused at any time.
- Images. Meaningful images have descriptive alternative text. Purely decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
- Works without JavaScript. Core content, navigation and the consultation form remain available if JavaScript does not load.
- Resizable text. The layout adapts to different screen sizes and to text enlarged using your browser.
Known limitations
We are still improving this website. Some limitations we are aware of:
- The testimonial carousel hides cards that are off screen from assistive technology and announces which cards are showing. This pattern may behave differently in some screen readers.
- Some documents and third-party pages we link to may not be fully accessible, and we do not control them.
